The Lord called David Fletcher Ratcliff Home on August 27, 2025.
David was born on May 15, 1962 to Betty D. Arrington and Alvin P. Ratcliff. David was a bright light in this world and a special child of God. David was always full of joy and never met a stranger. He was always smiling and a friend to anyone he met. David loved to watch football, wrestling, Dukes of Hazzard and Beverly HillBillies. David was a lover of music and loved guitars. Some of his favorite country artists were Garth Brooks and George Jones. He would happily sing White Lightning and He Stopped Loving Her Today. David was greatly loved by his family and anyone he got to know.
David was preceded on death by his mother: Betty D. McKenzie; step father: Chester McKenzie; brothers: Joseph “Mike” Ratcliff, Willie Ratcliff, Buster Radcliff; sisters: Marsha “Lynn” Ratcliff, Teresa Lassiter; nephew: Kyle Branden Slay.
David is survived by his brothers: John Ratcliff of Chipley, FL, Loyd McKenzie of Chipley, FL, Andy Ratcliff of Marianna, FL; nephews: Billy Radcliff of Chipley, FL, Josh Ratcliff of Pensacola, FL, Jake Ratcliff of Pensacola, Chris (Emma) Bruner of Chipley, FL, Dusty Bruner of Bonifay, FL; nieces: Linda Cox (Brad Ward) of Westville, FL, Kayla (Daniel) Johnson of Bonifay, FL, Jessica Slaughter - Drake (Jason) of Ripon, WI, Rachel Radcliff of Pensacola, FL and sister in law: Barbara Radcliff of Pensacola, FL.
The family will like to extend a special thank you to Jamie, Melody, Sandy and Pam of ARC group home Chipley, FL for a lifetime of loving and thoughtful care of David. A special thank you to ARC of Chipley, FL. A special thank you to his team at Gulf Coast Hospital for compassionate care Danielle (Dani), Haylee, Samantha and Maria. David will truly be missed but we rejoice in knowing he is in the hands of our father in Heaven.
Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Obert Funeral Home Chapel in Chipley, Florida with Pastor Michael Tadlock officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at Obert Funeral Home Chapel. (731 Kirkland Road)
