David George Renaker

We remember David Renaker. He painted the mural, "The Death of Socorets" on the east wall of the interior of the Prison of Socrates Coffee House in Balboa, California, and the exterior paintings that represented for many the experience of attending a show at the coffee house by David's sister, folksinger Susan Renaker, who often opened for folksinger Tim Morgon during the early 60s, through the summer of 1965. We knew David through his sister, Susan. He was a gifted artist. Susan was a good friend of ours. Nick and Mike Campbell, Atascadero, California.

A great, erudite, and witty teacher of mine at SFSU. I took his Milton class and still remember his lectures fondly.
