I am so sad to learn of Dave's passing. He mentored myself and so many other softball umpires. Dave had a very special and effective way of explaining things that was both logical and easy to understand. I nominated him to be in the ASA Softball Hall of Fame. I have a deep respect for him and his wife as they were always classy and willing to help others when needed. Rest in Peace, Dave. You will be remembered with positive thoughts and prayers. David was an inspiration to all umpires and especially me. Serving with him on the state umpire staff was an honor and a blessing. Rest in peace my friend.

Sorry to hear about your Dad´s passing Ben. He umpired a lot of our games when I played for Busch Beer, not only in Muskegon, but in many of the bigger tournaments in other cities we played in. He was one of the best umpires around, but I know he was an even better man! GOD BLESS!
