Not sure what to say?

I just learned of David's death during a visit home for the holidays. David was a rocket of energy, inspiration, mischief and courage that animated my childhood. From the age of maybe six until I was ten and we moved away, David was the most exciting, imaginative, knowing and important friend I had. I'll always be grateful for his choosing to be my friend. And even though I haven't seen him for forty years, I will miss him on the planet. He left an indelible mark.
Much love to his family...

To the Roberts Family,

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on David's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and our shipmate. The SUBVETS will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and David will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss---your family is in our thoughts & prayers!

Knew Dave from the chapters in his life encompassing Portage Lake and environs. Many a laugh and many a shared meal contributing to fond and bittersweet memories. May God hold him in the palm of His hand.

We have found memories of Dave when we met him when he worked in dexter. We grew to love him and he became a dear friend. After we lost touch with him we have thought of him often and continued to love the man we had good memories of. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
