I don't think I ever told you, David, but you were the reason I went on to study British History. My emphasis turned out to be British Naval history which was also my passion. Thank you for that, my dear friend.

I just learned of David's passing and am literally heartsick. I grew up with him and his siblings - and I loved them all. David was a gentile, intelligent, witty and very kind man. I will miss him greatly and wish the most sincere condolences to all who loved him.

I was very disheartened to learn of Dave's passing. I worked with Dave at APICS. He was a kind gentle soul and so smart. He often bragged about his family and had a wonderful sense of humor. My prays go out to the Ross family. May your memories sustain you during this difficult time. God Speed Dave.

Dear Colleen and Ross children:
I first met David in 1967 when my late husband(then my boyfriend)Dennis began playing "Guy Ball." Dave might have still been in high school then. Over the following decades, like most of the Wilmette Guys, David grew up a bit, went to college, got married, started families, grew up some more, went to grad school, and played a lot of baseball.
He became our "Silver Fox" over the years,super-loyal to his baseball buddies, always the gracious...
