RUSHFORTH, David Jenks M.D. DJR, M.D. fulfilled so many roles. Loving and devoted husband to Jan for 42 years, amazing and selfless father to "little Dave" and Mandy, and his favorite role "Bumpa" to Ellie, Andrew and Hailey. Dave took enormous pleasure from the simple things in life whether it...

Not sure what to say?

A good athlete, good student, good looking and...an all around "Good Guy!"

We love you guys xoxoxo and we will be there with you in spirit. Sue, Eric

Many years ago, I was shocked with the diagnosis of Hodgkins disease.
I was lying, stunned, on the couch, when David knocked on our door.
Our overwhelmed family invited him in, two sons staring
with scared eyes, and two dogs barking at his feet,
He sat with us and talked in a quiet voice.

I will remember Dave for his kindness and concern for others. Always the gentleman, always a good listener and never without a great smile on his wife. Jan, your loss is shared by so many who cared about Dave. Sending you the courage to face the future.

Many people do great things in life, but not many are happy when doing them. Dr. Rushforth was a great man who helped lead Plymouth at a time when a non-politician was needed. Sometimes Doctors and Politicians have this pretentious attitude; you need me more than I need you. Dr. Rushforth was never that type of man. He always did things with a smile and his obituary says it all. My condolences to his wife Jan and their family. God speed Dr. Rushforth and thank you !

Dave was my high school classmate at Wethersfield High. Although I have not had the opportunity to have shared his life over the years, I remember him as a very strong athlete, a bright student and a really nice guy! The recounting of his adult life in his obituary made me realize that he was a remarkable man! My only regret is that i didn't have the opportunity to know him over the years. My wife, Patty (Montanaro), who is a classmate of David's sister, Barbara, and I offer our prayers...

Dave was my next door neighbor growing up. He was always gentle and kind, whether playing hit the bat on a summer evening, or being an extra big brother when needed. He will be a special addition to the angel force.
