Dear Ruttenberg Family

David brought me such insight over the years. Over numerous lunches we would discuss everything from the Art world to philantropy. He was such a committed, dedicated, caring man. I have met few like him in my lifetime.
My thoughts are with you all.

Our deepest sympathy on your great loss. David was an unique man and he shall be missed.

Dear Buzz and Family, Our condolences to you on the passing of an exceptional father and personage in the community. I had come across your father's name at variou times in my journeys around Chicago but never had the privilege of meeting him. Reading the online remembrances of him has given me further insight to the man he was to many people. Lee Harr0is

You all have my deepest sympathy. David was a wonderful man and lived a wonderful life. He will be very much missed. Richard N. Aleskow

Chicago lost one of it's most passionate, educated, committed and humorous art lovers. My heart goes out to his family. Please know that David touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed. With much respect and continued admiration, Catherine Edelman

My thanks to you for teaching me the value of art. My twin girls attend Lake Forest College and I met an African Artist there that knew "Ousman". You are everywhere, David! May you rest in peace and may your spirit live forever! Thanks for the memories!
