O'Brien Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services - South Hadley Obituary

David F. Sabourin, 70, died Tuesday May 16th at Holyoke Medical Center after a short illness. He was born in Ludlow, grew up in Longmeadow and graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1970 and the Radio Broadcasting school of Boston in 1971. David worked as an industrial carpenter and sang in the choirs at the former St. Ann’s Church in West Springfield, St. Elizabeth’s Church in Ludlow and most recently St. Patrick’s Church of South Hadley. David loved the outdoors. If he could have lived totally in the wild he would have. He especially loved not only hunting, fishing, skiing, and kayaking but searching for wildlife treasures, like deer antler or unique pieces of wood that he then would craft into a loving gift for someone. He was surely ‘One of a Kind’. He was predeceased by his wife Corinia Hervieux Sabourin, his mother Phyllis Martin, his father Everett Sabourin and his brother John Sabourin. He leaves his son Ian Gray, his wife Heather and granddaughters Kimberly and Jordan of Bradenton, FL, step daughter Rachel Schufreider and her daughter Madisonlee Lewis of N. Amherst, and his sister Cynthia Sullivan, her husband Larry of NY and their family as well many cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday May 30th at 11AM at St Patrick’s Church South Hadley, MA. Calling hours will precede the service on Tuesday at 10 am at the church. A small celebration of life will be held after the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in David’s memory to St Patrick’s Church 30 Main Street South Hadley,
MA 01075. For more information please go to obrienfamilyfh.com.
