Dear Familia Saldaña,
I got to know David when I was a Freshman at Howard Payne University. His humor, intellect and generosity were qualities I admired about him. Many times, he invited me to his home for meals. As a student at SWBTS, he modeled kindness. He encouraged me to study, represent and speak up for our "gente." I wish I would have stayed in touch. Please accept my condolences. He made a difference in the lives of many---including me. God Bless you.

It is so sad to hear about David Saldana. We have so many wonderful memories of David, Sarah , Marisela, and Mary Lou Oregon that goes back to childhood years up to college years. The memories are of us growing up in Calvery Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas and as I attended Mary Harden Baylor. What a beautiful Christian family. I will always remember the times with David and the family on 16th street and at church. I valued his companionship during our initial days in the service while our mothers prayed for us back home. Rest In Peace my friend and look forward to seeing you again.
