Not sure what to say?

Dear Janice and Family:

We were stunned to learn of Dave's passing. We are so sorry for your loss. We still laugh at some of the things we remember.

Sorry we didn't learn of this sooner.

We wish you and your family the best.

On September 30th at 11:24 a.m. David emailed me. He wanted to know how I was. I had not spoken to him in 3 years. I was excited to hear from him and responded right away letting him know I was working from my home in Washington. I agreed it to be a good idea to get together and catch up when I returned to Cleveland. But he never replied... that wasn't like him. I was devastated to learn that 24 hours later he was gone. He thought enough of me the day before to reach out and say hello. ...

On October 1st, I lost the love of my life - best friend - father of our children, Zack and Amanda. I cry at the drop of a hat, and smile when my kids and I remember a joke David made or when we repeat something he did that was funny. He was the most generous, direct, bigger-than-life person. When you were with him, it was like being with the king. King of what, I don't know - but the king, never the less. (OK - I'm smiling at that thought.)

Thank you everyone for your notes and...

Janice & Family,

Linda and I just heard about this!
We are shocked and dismayed at David's passing.
Please understand that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Dear Schenk Family,

I met David last year and couldn't help but love his jovial personality.

He was a fun-loving man, ready for a good laugh. Beyond this, he was a giving person and a true professional.

My association with David may have been short, but I feel truly blessed to have known him and to have him as a friend.

My deepest sympathies to all of you for your loss...and heaven's gain.

Janice & Family,

Our deepest sympathy & prayers go to you & your family during this difficult time.

Hi Janice,

I'm one of the doctors who took care of your husband at the restaurant and spoke with you on the telephone. Although I wish the outcome had been different, I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to take care of him. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Remember that this too shall pass.

Sincerely,

Dr. Nicole Johnson
