I just learned of Dave's passing yesterday. We worked together on many driving trips and had numerous conversations over the years that were a real source of enjoyment and enrichment for me. I will miss my friend. My deepest condolences to his family.

Dear Schroeder Family...
To one of the Truest Icon's of the Berkshire...
Dave was a man whose face and shadow one remembers as he made his way through life.
He had a way of either making you laugh as some say or at times he could irate you by the truthfulness of his heartfelt words.
He might not have believed in My Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ but May God still be merciful to Dave and his family...In Jesus Name ...amen amen amen

Sandy Sarudis, Dave and our penquin snowman
Another fond memory of Dave. Sandy and I would often build snowmen in the backyard at the Berkshire. Dave would watch us from his unit and then come down to admire our work and chat....we will surely miss him.

Where do I begin…my heart is simply broken. Dave was one of the first people I met when I moved into the Berkshire back in 1997. Other than my immediate family, no one has been in my life as long as Dave. I learned of his passing while hiking in the Canadian Rockies and the first thing I thought was...I probably wouldn't even be here but for Dave. Back in the late 1990s Dave, who noticed I enjoyed walking in the evenings, suggested I give hiking a try and placed the schedule for the...

Berkshire Sunset Crew
I was first introduced to Dave in the Spring of 2007 by my new girl friend Sandy. We met on the roof of the Berkshire (where else) and that day was the beginning of an all too short friendship. Sandy knew Dave for about 19 years and still gets emotional thinking about him. I wish I had known him longer and still cherish the good times we had on the roof, the fire pit gatherings on the lawn an the occasional parties inside during the winter months. He was his own man and will be missed by...

Dad, I miss you so much, thank you for everything you have taught me about life.
David Lee Schroeder Sr – Born January 22nd 1938 and passed away September 8th.
For those who knew our father they would say he was a very intelligent, funny and often challenging soul. In his heart he cared about so many. He was and always will be loved by so many that it would be impossible to mention everyone.
We would love to thank everyone that we have met during his journey in this life. ...

I always remmber the man who everyday took a walk around the neighborhood with a smile and a hello. I miss him at the Clifton show every spring when he would enjoy and purchase many of my made Christmas cards for the coming year. You will be missed around the neighborhood David but not forgotten.
