David L. Schwartz, age 78 of Coldwater, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater. He was born on September 28, 1946 in Piqua to the late Raymond & Alvira (Stucke) Schwartz. On September 21, 1968 in Coldwater, he married Lorraine (Pleiman) Schwartz and she survives in Coldwater.


He is also survived by children Lisa & David Dygert of Loveland, Ohio, Brian Schwartz of Coldwater and Amy Schwartz of Worthington, Ohio, grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, and Kristin Dygert, siblings, Jerry & Mary Jane Schwartz of Ft. Loramie, Mike & Vicki Schwartz of Minster and Mary Lou & Bruce Guy of Miamisburg, and in-laws, Joseph & Joan Pleiman of Kensington, Maryland, Mary & Tony Jordan of Baltimore, Maryland and Roy Pleiman of Celina.


He was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, Don & Mary Schwartz.


He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Coldwater American Legion and Coldwater Eagles. David retired after many years as a machinist at Minster Machine. David was an avid golfer.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 1PM to 5PM on Sunday March 2, and on Monday from 9AM to 10AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice. I enjoyed playing golf with Dave many times at Wabash Valley. He was such a competitor, but always a gentleman. We missed him here last summer, and now each and every summer we play. You have my deepest sympathy
