David entered into my life almost as an answer to an unspoken prayer...He excelled in his role as mentor and friend. He knew how to dig beneath the surface to explore the deeper aspects of a situation and seemed to delight in helping others find the gems of clarity and wisdom that lay within them, undiscovered. In every life there are just a few people that are pivotal in helping one's growth, and for me, David was one of these. I will fondly remember him as a consummate Soul.

I never got to know David except through my sweet phone calls with my old high school best friend, Sandy, his dear wife. From her I learned that theirs was a very precious and special love. And I learned from her that he was an amazing man, beloved by many, and a true healer. Their kind of love never ends. It is a gift to the world and the world is a better place because of their love. My heart is with you, Sandy.

DaddyDavid was exceptional. Not just in being a Father-in-law, but in being a friend. A genuine listener with always a kind and encouraging word, he would take the time, no matter how chaotic~to sit and listen to everything I had to say. And at the end of my animated, yet rather lengthy details~remind me how wonderfully I'm doing and how proud he was of Chad and I. He will be greatly missed, but loved and treasured always. A bright light that was blown too soon, but whose warmth lingers...

David touched many lives. I did not know him well but was blessed by his wisdom that was freely and generously given. Love expands well beyond our immediate vision. The positive ripple effects of David's life here will be felt for years to come.

Dr. Shipley is really a kind man and he knows so much about what makes people well. I repected how patient Dr. Shipley was. Our youngest daughter, LIzzy. (14) once came into his office in shear panic from all the symtoms that she was having; Dr. Shipley's kindness, calmness and understanding of her situation changed her life. She's been drinking protein shakes ever since!

David was a man you could count on. He saw the best in you. He knew how to get to the heart of you and wasn't slow to offer his love and support. He cared deeply for his family, friends amd patients. He had a strong inquisitive mind and was always up for a conversation from quantum to puppys. His loyalty and devotion to me, his sister is unforgetable and irreplaceable. I love him very much.

David was always there when I had a question, medical or not. I'll remember his sense of humor, his kindness, and the loving, wonderfully balanced relationship he and my sister, Rev Sandy, shared.
