Not sure what to say?

Until our sophomore year when I moved to Permian. I didn't know him on the football field but I knew him from the weight room and track and field. We competed in the shot put in discus together. David was one of the most gifted physical individuals I've ever met. His natural strength was amazing and he was a competitor like few others I've ever known. He was a lot of fun to work with and track and field and as a friend at school. All will forever remember him. He was an outstanding individual.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the services. I was fortunate to have been a teammate of David from junior high school until we completed our athletic career at Texas A&M. Sorry to Hear. David was always a good person.

I'll always remember the early days of Coach Bellard at Texas A&M - with David Shipman being part of the rise of Aggie football - highlighted by the team's tremendous success on the field during the 1975 and 1976 seasons. David was a true, proud Aggie. It does my heart good to know that after graduating from Texas A&M, he had a successful business career and wonderful, loving family. God bless David Shipman and his family. From a fellow Texas Aggie, Class of '73
