Both Fred and I have fond memories
of running track with Dave at U High. Our deepest sympathy to the Shipman family to be bereft of Dave at so young an age.

Our deepest sympathy..

Today is a beautiful, sunny day in Michigan, David's early home. This is the sort of day he enjoyed with friends at his pool, the lake and on the running track. I am sure he enjoyed many more in Florida.
David will always be here, in the sunshine.

As another longtime friend of David said, I consider it a honor to have been considered by David as a friend. On another of countless positive notes with David, I cannot recall David ever having negative things to say about others. David was "one in a million". I will miss David. All of the Shipman family should know that David touched many people lives in kind and gentle ways.

My warmest regards to the Shipman family.

I regretfully say I only came into contact with Dave (Shippo - as he was affectionally known by his close friends) a few times after my graduation in 68. However, I have gotten many updates on his where-abouts through friends such as Tom Dobson & Ken Killich. I knew Dave through all of his good friends at U High and from the many days of playing hockey here in Ann Arbor. I will always remember his great smile.
