David Michael Shorter, Jr.

David Michael Shorter, Jr., 32, entered into eternal rest on August 26, 2015.

The relatives and friends of David Michael Shorter, Jr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 31, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 Saint Teresa Drive. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM.

Davey was born June 14, 1983 in Charleston, a son of David M. and Jean Lighthart Shorter and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Bishop England High School, attended Trident Technical College and was employed by R.L.A. Associates. Davey loved his young years at St. Andrew's Playground. He also loved being outdoors, especially when he was spending time with his beloved son, Chase, fishing, going to the beach, and attending sporting events. He loved hunting with his dad, brother, cousins, and uncle "up at the ranch". Anyone who knew Davey also knew he loved his Carolina Gamecocks.

In addition to his son, Chase David Shorter, and his parents, Davey is survived by a brother, Kyle Shorter, and a sister, Michelle Forster and brother-in-law, Ryan; Chase's mom, Jami Rawlings Shorter and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Davey will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his mom and dad.
