David Chapa Siller
David was born in Pearsall, Texas on May 19, 1949 to loving parents, Santiago and Paula Siller.
David’s early childhood days were in Corpus Christi, Texas. The family moved to Dallas, Texas
in the summer of 1963. His teenage years were in Dallas and on August 5, 1968, he was
drafted. While in the U.S. Army, he served his country as a Paratrooper/ Infantryman and was
stationed at various military bases including Fort Riley, KS., Fort Hood and Fort Bliss Tx., Fort
McClellan, AL, Fort Benning, GA. and his overseas assignments in Europe included Yugoslavia
and Germany. He was discharged in Jan. 19, 1971. He received a National Defense Service
Medal; Parachutist Badge; Expert Rifle 2nd class Gunner (M-60mg). When he returned to
Dallas, he worked with his brother Luis Siller at Bell Glass and Mirror as well as Centennial Auto
Glass.
In 1975 David met and fell in love with Rosalinda Saucedo and they married on June 10, 1975.
David and Linda had four children.
David enjoyed fishing, watching documentaries, reading and just being with his family. David
had a very likeable personality and had a great sense of humor. He always had time to visit with
friends and had a very kind heart.
After he was diagnosed with COPD, he really focused on spending as much time as he could
with his children and his family.
He made one last trip to Corpus with his brothers Luis and Santiago to visit his childhood
friends. David’s faith was very strong and he would study the bible during the time he was ill.
David was proceeded in death by his Father Santiago B. Siller, his Mother Paula C. Siller, his
brother Oscar Siller and his nephew Noe Siller. Survived by his children, Raquel, David Jr.,
Michelle and Isaac, 15 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
