David Lee Sims, Jr. FLORENCE, SC - David Lee Sims, Jr., 35, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 11, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. David was born in Florence, SC a son of David Lee Sims and Margaret Rose Campbell Sims. He was a 1996 graduate of South Florence High School and had attended Francis Marion University. He was Owner and Operator of Landscape Irrigation Concepts and Carolina Custom Concrete in Florence. He loved the outdoors having been an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nicholas Ross Campbell and Gertrude McNeill Campbell and by his paternal grandparents, Robert Lee "R.L." Sims and Frances Moore Sims. Surviving are his son whom he loved very much, John David Sims; parents of Florence; sister, Destiny Lewis (Jimmy) Studzinski of Austin, Texas; nephews, Walker McNeill Studzinski and Cameron James Studzinski and many other loving family members and friends. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, 524 South Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

I can't begin to express how deeply sorry I am for the loss of your son. My heart is heavy , and want nothing more but answers for your family. I pray God lifts you up, and gets you through these difficult time. May he rest in peace, and know how much he was loved and cared about by so many!

I'm so sorry to hear of David's passing today. He was always a joy to wait on at Athens Greek Restaurant. I will be praying for his parents, sister, son and all of his friends. He surely will be missed by us!!!

David was one of the coolest guys to be friends with back in school and throughout the years. I will always remember him and keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.

We were so saddened to hear about the loss of David. May God embrace you with his love. May you turn to memories of all you shared during the dark hours ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
