Not sure what to say?

Dr. Slatkin was my Dean at the Chicago College of Pharmacy. I first met him before the College opened, at the site where the College was being built. He was a very kind, good, and humble man.

I was so lucky to have known Dean Slatkin at MWU. Being from California, I was away from home and all my friends and family when I first arrived at pharmacy school. He made it a point to get to know each of us, He was more than just a Dean. Thank you to the Slatkin family for sharing him with us, I feel so privileged to have known him.

Slats started MWU with a small group of faculty of which I was a member. We tried to establish something different, and added faculty with the heart and mind to join the effort. He created a unique opportunity for a faculty who were joined in community rather than in camps. He became a father/mentor figure to students and faculty alike. And he wasn't opposed to having fun! May the many memories comfort those who mourn the loss.

David was a kind, generous man who was serious yet full of fun and humor. All of us that knew and loved David will know that our world has lost a person who gave so much of his life so others could benefit.

Your father was a wonderful, sweet man. He was very sweet to me, always. I am sorry that he suffered so much. Love, to Judy and Stephanie. You have been through so much. I am so sorry. Love, Marsha

Sure we at Chicago State University will miss him.

David was a great colleague and friend. His legacy in pharmacy education will live on through the many lives he touched. Rest in peace dear friend.
