David Cameron Smith

David was born on May 10, 1933 and passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. David was a resident of High Point, North Carolina at the time of passing. Entering the Army at an early age, he served in many units and retired as a Special Forces Lt. Col. He received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart as a Vietnam veteran in addition to other awards and citations. He was a devoted member of Special Forces Association, Special Operation Association, many other military organizations, as well as Masonic Lodge 699. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of High Point at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be held in Fayetteville's LaFayette Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday with full military rites. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 Visitation at the Cumby Family Funeral Service - Archdale from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on November 13, 2018.
