We knew David as Tex when he used to visit the Knaup/Ogren cottage at Higgins Lake. We enjoyed his entertaining humor and his trademark of western hat and boots. My deepest condolences to the Smith family. My childhood has many memories of David. His compassion and commitment to animals allowed me to overlook his dedication to MSU. I´m deeply saddened that I will no longer be able to reach out to him.
