David Lewis Spangler Sr., 58, of Northview Avenue, Princeton, died suddenly Saturday morning, March 19, 2011 at his residence. Born August 28, 1952, in Welch, he was the son of the late Conrad Theodore Spangler Sr. and Theresa Agnes Harsanyi Spangler. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Vivian Spangler. David lived his early childhood in Welch, moving to Princeton when he was 13 years of age and attended school in Princeton. David was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving with the U.S. Navy and had received the National Defense Service Medal. David was a painter for Dove Sign Company in Princeton and in 1988 was named the employee of the Year for the company. He also had worked for East River Metals, served as a paper carrier for Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Downard Hydraulics in Princeton. David was of the Baptist Faith Survivors include his devoted wife of 25 years, Judy Diana Steele Spangler Two sons David L. Spangler II & girlfriend Lisa Lambert of China Grove NC Justin Spangler of Princeton Grandson David L. Spangler III Two Brothers Conrad Spangler Jr. & wife Peggy of Richmond VA Fred Spangler of King NC Step Mother Margaret Spangler of Princeton Two half sisters Leslie Spangler of Princeton Mandi Spangler of Wilmington NC David special Uncle Bill Puskar of Princeton Special friends, Jackie Taylor His best buddy, his dog Bear Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2011 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor’s John King & Eric Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. On Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM, a time of gathering with the family will be held at the funeral home.
