Not sure what to say?

I can't believe that it has been 5 years since Lt. Spisak left us. I will never forget him. There were many wonderful people in SDPD, but some stand above and beyond. Lt. Spisak was one of those. He made me (forced me, actually!) to become what I became. He was my friend, my mentor, one of my heros. Always a gentleman, always kind and patient, I never saw him lose his temper. There were some who were unable to see his qualities, mostly because his intellect was so far beyond the norm. But I...

Still thinkiing of you, Dave. Still missing you. Still thanking you every day of my life for the direction in which your wise guidance set me.

Dear Joanna and Family,
So sorry for your loss. Dave added so much to my life when he served on the Board at HHRA. He introduced me to POST and we worked together on Hate Crimes issues for years. He leaves a huge legacy.
RIP dear Dave I feel fortunate to have you in my life. You were a model for me and our world. Peace and Love
Clara Harris

Joanna and family,

I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. As one who has lost two husbands, I know how you feel. My best to you at this time with fond memories.

Dear Family, I have many fond memories of Dave when he was involved in our music at the Friends Church in Spring Valley! Besides his musicianship, his wit and enthusiasm made everything more fun! I am very sorry to learn of Dave's passing and am praying for God's comfort in your lives.
-Randy Thornburg, Dave's former pastor

To Joanna and the rest of David's family; we are so sad to hear of Dave's passing. He was such a stand-up guy. Jessica and I talked frequently about hunting you up and seeing how it was going in your lives. Jessica has so many fond memories, Dave wanting her to be the first woman in the San Diego Host Lions Club, introducing her to more Boards than she can remember, and recalling the Garlic Feast in your front yard. We are so sorry for your loss and of course, the world lost a man who...

I am Steve Williams and I knew Dave when he work for San Diego PD. I was an officer at San Diego State University police. My deepest condolences for his passing.
A friend of mine and Dave's was Lee Goldstein. I was wondering if the family had heard from Lee recently. If so could you call me or send me an email with any information about how I could contact Lee. 6199220488. [email protected]. Thank you.

I was sad to learn of David's passing. I did not know him very well but I did know Joanna as we worked together at Granite Hills High School and we would like for her to join our "retired" GH ladies. Our prayers are with you and your family.

i have many great memories over the years of my favorite cousin, David! i think i helped inspire him to go into police work when i decided i wanted to study police work from the age of 12! except i never actually followed up on my BS in Police Administration...but happy David did as he made so many important contributions to the field over the years...including helping eliminate gender restrictions on women who desired to work as officers. a very common sense person...intelligent and fun! ...
