Not sure what to say?

sorry to have missed this, my condolences... i worked with dave at dupont when he was working on characterizing a dye sublimation printer dupont was working on. i put together some code and apparatus at his direction to do testing. dave was fun to work with and he was alway up beat!

Thank you, Dad, for everything you taught and cared about. Now that I´m a senior, I have an expanded appreciation of all that you gave me. I hope you´re finding many answers to any unanswered curiosities, as well much peace in heaven. Thank you especially for the times you rescued me when I had nowhere else to turn. Missing you, Sherry

We miss you David.

Thinking of you on this Father's Day and being thankful to have you in my life

David (standing) with brother Charles Jr.

Never had the chance to know my half brother, Dad told me some stories about how brilliant he was, I was scanning old photos and many were of David and Charles Jr. My prayers go to you all, he left you many good memories.

I was unfortunate for me in that I did not know or meet David. Only through his daughter, Sherry, did I hear the many stories of his brilliance. My favorites are of the Apollo days, although it would be hard to any of his accomplishments over the other. She remembers all of them and would entertain me with them, even the car trips (vacations). I believe there is more to ourselves than this mortal life here on Earth. I hope David is enjoying his life after this life.

Dave was a great character (and a fine scientist) and I'm sure he would have loved to read this obituary, as I did. Our paths crossed at DuPont where I was often in awe of his vast, wide-ranging knowledge of optical science. He was most helpful to me in understanding the possibilities of goniochromatic flake pigments, on which we worked together. Along with all his intellect he had a wonderful sense of humor (sometimes unintentional, to be sure).

We lost touch after my retirement but...

I miss you Dad, sometimes I catch myself wanting to give you a call before I realize that you have passed. I know you are looking out for me still. To a happy, unique man - you taught me so much.
