DOHERTY FUNERAL SERVICE Obituary

David J. Stagnone, Sr.--80, A resident of Somerville since 1960 passed away on September 16, 2014.

David was the beloved husband of the late Teresa H. DiNatalie and the loving father of David J., Jr. of Tewksbury, Paul C. of Gardner, and the late Christopher J. Stagnone. He was the brother of Louis, Richard, and Donny Stagnone. David was also the dear grandfather of Alicia, Natalie, Jennifer, Paul and Julie and the great-grandfather of David, Kayla, and Kacee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Thursday evening, September 25, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. followed by a Funeral Home Service celebrated by Rev. Nicholas Ciccone at 7:00 p.m.

David was born in Salem, Masachusetts, and was a veteran of the US Navy, Korean War. Prior to his retirement, David was a firefighter for the City of Somerville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David?s name to Ascend Hospice, 100 Locke Drive, Marlborough, MA 01752.

You and grandma are talked about often. I have pictures of you two on my fridge and they always bring a smile to my face when I look at them. You two are greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about David's Passing I knew David as I worked with his late wife Teresa whom I dearly miss as well, it seems like just yesterday that I was at their home having dinner after work one evening in Somerville, may he Rest in Peace with his Loving wife Teresa They are Together again

Hope you are resting easy Grandpa. I hope you and Grandma can enjoy eternity together. There will always be a void in my heart with your and Grandma's passing. You will be missed immensely and your memory will remain eternal. I love you and miss you more than words can say.
