Not sure what to say?

He was a man like few others I've ever known. A man of influence,the proverbial pillar of the community, nationally recognized yet someone so unassuming, so reserved that he put me at great ease when I had the privilege of being in his presense. Mr. Staples or Dave as he would only have me call him, was my financial advisor, mentor and friend. He taught me many things over the 22 years I knew him at his beloved Images Group that he operated, along with his wife Cathy, in Easton. I was...

I always regarded Dave as the epitome of a gentleman, a consummate professional, and a genuinely caring individual. Over the years every time we talked, whether at SHOT Show, an outdoor writers' meeting, or by phone, he was pleasant and evinced genuine interest in me as a person. I also know that he worked behind the scenes to do little things which had a big meaning for those he touched. A good example was the presentation knives he had crafted for those who served as president of OWAA. ...

What a terrible loss to our industry. Dave was truly one of a kind, and we are poorer today for his loss. Once you were his friend, you were his friend forever. I'm so glad we talked recently. My deepest condolences to Cathy, the family, and all the folks at Images Group.

Cathy,
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. When I heard of Dave passing I went out and had a burger and fries in his honor. Dave taught me many things during my years of working with him. I will never forget his calm. Here's to you Dave.

Many talk about climbing the mountain but few have the courage and the tenacity to climb it....but you my friend, you did climb it and you did it with grace and dignity. You were my friend, my brother, and my leader. You went where there was no path and you left a trail. No one could have done it better. Written with loving respect.

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently,...
