Not sure what to say?

My memories of this extraordinary and larger than life man continue! What a joy it was to spend time with him talking about music, eating great food, or sharing a touching evening with his beautiful family! David's spirit continues to soar!!!

Fond memories of the many times our lives intersected over the past 30 years - several times in Pittsburgh (of course), Charleston SC, Seattle and even Sydney where his JOYOUS NOISE was once played in the Sydney Opera House. David was a constant presence of cheer and positive energy, of perseverance and curiosity. Not just an enormous loss to Pittsburgh, but to the many friends and colleagues the world over whose lives he touched. Let's renew our knowledge of and belief in his music, the sort...

Sending my love to you all. David touched so many lives. We thank G-d for him

Celia, Sara, and family... So sorry for you loss. May your memories of the special man he was sustain you. Danielle (yoga friend)

I am so sorry to hear of this terrible loss. I send my loving thoughts to his beautiful family. My few times with David were always surrounded by vital musical conversation, spicy food, and deep fellowship. What a great and generous man. Rest in peace. With love Larry Rachleff

I have known David Stock since he emerged as a young composer in Pittsburgh devoted to promoting contemporary music. His personal development as a composer and his success in assisting other composers have been most impressive. Also impressive have been his deep commitment to his faith and his humanitarian inclinations. He will be deeply missed but also gratefully remembered for his many contributions.

Dear Sara & Jon: My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. - Jeff Pollock, Esq., Sq. Hill

David and I worked together recently and in years past. He was, as always, bright and engaged. His contribution to our community will be greatly missed. Robert Qualters

To the David Stock family,

My deepest condolences to all of you an the loss of your beloved David .
We had been friends for quite a long time. We both studied composition at CMU with Nicolai Lopatnikof and later we hooked up again at Duquesne University and were both on the faculty there.
I always enjoyed our little meetings in the hall and our brief chats.
He was a special guy and a very special musician
