David was a perfectionist and did not get the recognition he deserved for some of his creations. He did this with metal others are still trying to recreate. A Hero of mine from school days who GOD called home too early.

Dave, Steve Johnson and me worked for him back on mead, next to the track's. He taught the both of us how to work metal and paint. I just thought to look, saw his old place was cleaned up. Anyway's anybody that knew Dave knew he was a believer, we will see him someday with a new body!

I got to know David through his work with the Riverside Drainage District. He was a faithful servant for the community to make sure that south Wichita was protected from flooding. He was a great guy to have known and I enjoyed our conversations about the history of RDD and his family in south Wichita.

As a teenager in high school, I had the pleasure of meeting Dave Stucky while he was working at Darryl Starbird's shop on Mt. Vernon and Mead. If you didn't know, you would have sworn that it was Dave's shop. He was warm and always greeted visitors with a hearty smile. He one was of the best at what he did, rating right up there with the George Barris's and the Darryl Starbird's of the custom car world. He will be greatly missed.
