Dr. Sundwall was a true public servant and a kind and gentle man. Utahns should appreciate just how well he served the state and how much he cared about delivering quality, affordable healthcare to all.

To the Family of David Sundwall, We are very sorry to learn of the passing of David. We enjoyed the friendship of the Sundwall family during the time we lived on Hawkesbury Lane, and they lived on Hawkesbury Terrace in Montgomery County, Maryland. We know that David will be missed by his family and friends. We want to extend our sympathy to the Sundwall Family. Dr. Sundwall is one of a dying breed of caring hands-on family doctors who care about everyone in a very personal way. He was my doctor after I came to know him when I was a nurse at the Utah Dept. of Health and he always offered me friendship and respect so I was blessed to have him as my physician for a number of years after that, until they closed the clinic. He didn't treat the test; but understood the art and science of medical practice and, combined with his compassion for all, his love...

Dr Sundwall was my doctor for good many years he certainly did save my life sometimes I didn't have the whole copay to pay but it didn't matter to him I was on a walker came to see him one time in the elevator was out and he actually came down stairs to see me out of his office so sad to hear that he's gone he was a very very good man I know he's in God's hands.

Dave and I were fellow residents in the Boston Children´s hospital and the Family Medicine program in Boston. Later for a short time I worked with him at the U of Utah´s Family Medicine department. He recruited me to Calf. also. He was a national leader in family medicine. He had an ability to speak clearly about medical issues. I admired him. He was a good friend. My wife and I enjoyed our association with he and his wife, Cathy. I am sorry for his passing.

My sincere condolences to the entire Sundwall family but in particular to our Tap family, Cathy, Eleanor, Stephen, Matilda and Ada. Dr. Dave was such a calm and reassuring presence within our camp. I had so many wonderful conversations with him over the past years and I always admired what a renaissance man he was. I loved how Jane would tell stories about their Scrabble competitions and how he reflected with so much joy on their time together at camp. He will be deeply missed but as I walk...

Our sympathy at "Dr. David's" passing. We were blessed to have him and his father "Dr. Val" as our physicians. They were amazing - genuine, kind, patient, - just wonderful human beings. I will never forget him as his his four word "Welcome to the club" saved my life. He was always there for our family. May you feel comfort in knowing the positive effect he had on so many lives.

Dr Sundwall mentored me and offered me invaluable advice that lead me to make the decision to pursue medicine. He had an immense impact on my life and always held him in such high regard. He will be missed and hope his family know how impactful he was to many others.
