David F. Suter, age 77 of Massillon, passed away on September 14, 2012. He was born on May 9, 1935 in Canton to the late Kenneth and Maxine Suter. He served our country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. Dave retired from Fisher Foods as a butcher after 38 years of service. He was an avid golfer, golfing in the Senior Golf Association and bowler, bowling a 300 game in 1986. Dave was a member of the McKinley Eagles, Knights of Columbus in Massillon and St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his siblings, Shirley (Larry) Stillion, Nancy Haubert, Kenneth (Jackie) Suter and Victor Suter; he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maxine Mae Suter; children, Dawn (Rick) Flake, Beth (Dave) Gustin and Dave (Laura) Suter Jr.; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Betty (O.C.) Pollard, Gary (Pat) Suter and Tom (Marsha) Suter; sisters -in-law, Joan Tolson and Phyllis Kestel; brothers-in-law, John (Carol) Butcher and Tom (Pat) Butcher and many loving nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Reed Funeral Home, Canton Chapel. Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens with military honors. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
