I still miss you Little Brother.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson...Thinking of you today on Veterans Day and praying that you all will be comforted this day and every day as you miss your precious son. My son is Marshall David Stewart, whom you know, and he has shared some of his experiences with you. Please take care and just know that so many are aware of the sacrifice all of you have made for us.

I read these posts often, but could never fight back the tears to post before today. There is not an hour that goes by without me thinking about what I've lost. But, really...it's what we all lost. Jp was my best friend and the best thing that ever happened to me. He taught me what it truly meant to love someone...and put that person first. I am touched to read how much he meant to so many. One day, I hope our girls find that same love. I try to turn my sad times into happy...

I miss you.

I just glanced up at the hallway mirror as I went running up the stairs. Just a quick glance. I looked up and saw my reflection with a half smile looking back and me.

But then I looked in my eyes. And I stopped moving. What I saw looking back at me was my brother's blue eyes. And his smile. They were my eyes but they were his too.

Everyday I start my computer up to a photo of my brother on the desktop. The photo they used for the military service at Fort Bragg where...

Some days, like today, I wonder why I still fight. And then I remember. It's for you. I miss you every hour of every day.

The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.

While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more

To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one...
