My deepest condolences to family and friends. My father, Ron Stoughton, was a good friend of Dave´s and I have heard many, many stories. Dave´s parents, Roy and Jackie were my "adopted" grandparents (we all adopted each other) and I loved them deeply. I mostly remember how intelligent this family is! What a legacy! Best wishes into your next journey Mr. Thompson, please say hello to Roy and Jackie from Lindsey

David was a friend of my youth, a good friend, when we were undergraduates. We both left the university in 1969. I didn´t see him or hear about him again until 2020, when I suddenly discovered he had moved to my city. We enjoyed a long-deferred reunion. He was good company, smart, funny, interesting, and I am sorry he has passed on.
