Not sure what to say?

My Mom told be about David's passing yesterday. Being a widow myself, I send you all my deepest regards. Upon hearing this news, I began to reflect. I brought up a story that even mom doesn't remember -- m -- parents. Vickie was right-on when she wrote about the dirt road. We were fortunate to grow up with that dirt road in front of us and magical creek plus tree wilderness (yes with elves, and gnomes, and the whole lot!) behind. And the games we played... War, Hide-N-Seek, Baseball.....so...

Shirley and Family: I was deeply saddened to hear of your husband's accident. I read his obituary today and he was an extremely caring person in both his professional and personal life. I wish I could be there for you, but please keep in contact with me through the internet.

Dear Dr Layko & Family,
I wish to express my deepest Condolences on the passing of Dr Torlelson. I had a chance to meet and interact with him during my time in Midland and found him to be a very caring physician for his patients, as I had a chance to share his patients. On a professional level he was respected by his patients and peers and will be missed.
I always found him to be a happy, knowledgeable, a great person to talk to and I will miss seeing him in the hospital. My thoughts...

I wish to give my regards to the many family and friends that Dr. Torkelson had over the years. Hearing of his passing was very shocking and upsetting. I have been a patient of his for almost 11 years now. I have never met a more kind and considerate person in the medical field. He was always willing to give you his full attention and was never satisfied unless you were as well. He will be greatly missed.

I knew Dave in in junior and senior high. It is clear from his obituary that the character he showed in school matured into an individual of great value to his family and friends.
May God's spirit of comfort be poured out on his wife and family, mourning his passing and celebrate his life which clearly was a blessing to many people.
Condolences, Randal Schechter

Dear Torkelson family,
I am sorry to hear of the news of your family's loss of your father. I read the entire write up on your father and he sounded like he lived every moment to the fullest helping others. My family lived in your home in Midland prior to your family living there from '96 on. We hope you had special times together on Courtside. My family is praying for your family. Take care and God bless...Jennifer (Williamson) Fahndrich

Dear Dr. Layko and Family,
I had the privledge of shadowing Dr. Torkelson for several months when I was a medical student. I also worked with him when I was a Family Practice Resident. He has had a profound effect on me as a person and as a doctor. He is the standard by which I gauge myself as a doctor. I have hundreds of memories of observing Dr Dave in encounters with patients and doctors alike. He treated everyone regardless of their station in life with great respect and compassion. He...

Very disturbing news, but do as D. Walter would do and appreciate every single moment we have. life is for the living and we should be mindful of this always. every second is a gift. with all my fond memories with dave so many years ago, i know it is what he would want us to do. shirley, you may not remember me, but i visited you twice in pittsburgh, and then in saginaw. my sympathies are with you and your family.
love,
chas
