David Vallejos, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, was called to heaven to be with our Lord on October 5, 2013. He entered into this world on January 12, 1983 in Las Cruces. David was a loving man, always smiling, laughing and making jokes at the perfect moment. He was the kind of person who could make you laugh even if you were having the worst day. David was a laborer, handyman and loved to fix things. As a child, David was constantly taking things apart to see how it worked, or how to fix it. He had a passion for the outdoors such as camping, fishing, rafting, and gardening. He always kept to himself informed of the events and people in his life. His children were his world and everything that he needed in his life. He would do anything for them. On the day his son was born, David asked if the hospital staff would make an ink footprint on the shirt that he wore. David was so excited and proud to be a father. Family and friends were important to him and at every opportunity, he would spend time outdoors with his family and children, especially with his brother, Daniel and lifelong best friend Tony Armendariz. David is survived by his wife, Jessica Vallejos of the family home; five children, Joeangel, Adrian, Dominic, Deanna and Alina Vallejos; his mother, Debbie Vallejos; a brother, Daniel Vallejos; two sisters, Zonya Buchanan and husband Joshua, Joann Misquez all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include his maternal grandmother, Flora Bencomo of Las Cruces; his paternal grandparents, Primitivo and Ramona Vallejos of Hatch; his mother-in-law, Monica Legarda and husband Ismael; two brothers-in-law, Edward Villegas and wife Leslie, and Gabriel Sermeño Jr. and wife Belen all of San Diego, Calif.; his sister-in-law, Stephanie Villegas of Las Cruces as well as numerous other family members. David was preceded in death by his father, Prinitivo Vallejos Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Mauro Bencomo; aunt, Patsy Bencomo Carey and uncle, Elpidio Bencomo. Visitation for David will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m.. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the same chapel. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Daniel and Joeangel Vallejos, Tony Armendariz, Edward Villegas, Peter Espino, Thaddeus Clemmons, Luis Molina and Damian Manriquez. Honorary bearers will be Robert Jones, Joshua Buchanan and Daniel Lucero. The Vallejos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces. 527-2222 Your exclusive providers for "Veterans and Family Memorial Care."
