Not sure what to say?

Once a coach, always a coach. Reading Dave's obituary, one learns that one of his favorite sayings was, "Keep it positive." One can apply that wisdom in many ways. Thanks coach!

DAVE WAS MY REAL FIRST LOVE; I'M SO SORRY TO FIND OUT ABOUT HIS PASSING. HE'S IN GOD'S HANDS NOW. I'LL NEVER FORGET HIM!

So sad to hear of Mr. Vandyke's passing. I took every drafting and architectural drawing class he offered from Jr. High to High School. I wasn't a jock but he treated every one great. He was my favorite teacher. Class of 1980.

What great memories of Coach VanDyke. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

JV Champs (FHC Class of 1977)

A lifetime of gratitude to Coach VanDyke.... What more can a high school coach do for his players than to send them out into life as undefeated champions?

Coach VanDyke led our JV Football team to a perfect 9-0 season in 1975. I will never forget the huge dent he put in a locker at halftime when we were not playing up to our potential....we certainly did in the second half! The first time I heard the phrase "a team is only as strong as it's weakest link" was from coach, and we all know he was not that link! RIP coach.

Dave was a good friend of mine in high school. I regrettably lost touch with him during my years in the service. I'm so sorry to read of his passing. God bless.

Playing for Coach VanDyke was a joy for sure, but just as fun was having him in class as a teacher; although you definitely didn't want to be late for his class (the size of those books were impressive!) Nor did you want to carry the "bathroom pass" through the hallways.....yep, great memories indeed; be well Coach and look up Erv would ya.....

Rest in peace coach.

You were a lot of fun to play for.
