David Charles VanWalker, 57, of Homosassa, Florida, born on March 1, 1961, and passed away on May 16, 2018. David was a Retired Veteran of the United States Air Force where he specialized for approximately 6 years within the Aircraft Armament Systems and 14 years within the Signals Intelligence Production. After serving his country, he worked for the United States Postal Service. He is survived by his wife Susan VanWalker, his mother and stepfather Linda and Jack Levy of Leesburg, FL and his children Nathan VanWalker (Stephen) of Tampa, FL, Krista VanWalker of Tampa, FL; stepchildren Jared Gomez of Spring Hill, FL, Caleb Gomez (Jackie) of Spring Hill, FL, Selena Kraft (Cameron) of New Port Richey, FL; one grandson Peyton Gomez of Spring Hill, FL. David enjoyed a close relationship with his paternal family of St. Louis, MO; Aunt Genevieve Maas and Margaret Allen, as well as his maternal Aunt Judy Kitchen of Melbourne, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dean VanWalker and his maternal Aunt Peggy Green. David enjoyed the outdoors; nature hikes, kayaking, gardening and bike riding. He loved to work on his property and enjoyed taking rides up to Cedar Key. The Memorial Service with full military honors will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, with Pastor Barry Nehls officiating, on Wednesday, May 30 at 11:30, followed by a Celebration of Life Dinner at the home of his brother-and-sister-in-law Travis and Elvira Smith of Brooksville, FL.
