Thoughts and prayers to Mr. VanWinkles family. I have many fond memories of Mr. VanWinkle as a teacher and as a coach. As students and as athletes, we were blessed in the 1970s with good mentors and Mr. VanWinkle led the pack! I always appreciated the rides home after practice, too. God speed and RIP. Greg Sottek, class of 1978

I'm from the CC class of 1972. I have such fond memories of Mr. VanWinkle especially as a football coach. He always inspired me to do my best and was very supportive. His encouragement was always appreciated since my small stature didn't bode well for being a stellar player. His family and children can be proud of his legacy and that so many of his students keep those precious memories in our hearts 50+ years later. Prayers

Ann & family, I´m sorry to hear of your Dad´s passing. Both your parents will forever be in my growing up memories from being my teachers to coming home from college to them hanging with my parents. In fact, it seemed your parents were always a part of all the major events in my younger life because they were always there for my parents. They were good people with kind hearts that I will never forget. My thoughts & prayers are with your family. I hope they know the impact your parents had...

Anne and family: No need to tell you what your dad meant to me and ours. Always there for hugs and laughs and memories. Never to be forgotten. Love, Aunt Fran, Uncle Dave et al

Our sincere sympathy to Ann and Mike and all of the Richards Family, may he rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to his entire family. Mr (Dave) VanWinkle was not only a great teacher, but a wonderful neighbor as well. The world was a better place with him in it, and he will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his kindness. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to Dave´s family, I had the pleasure of getting to know Dave over the past 5 or 6 years what a kind gentle man, always smiling and so kind hearted, I will miss our talks RIP Dave

My heartfelt condolences to all of Dave's family. We here in the Atrium at Countryside liked Dave and enjoyed his "wicked wit". I will miss him at the bridge table.
