Read MoreDave and I were friends when we served as pastors in suburbs of Chicago. I remembered thinking Dave is one of the most gifted pastors I have ever known. We were together again when we worked together in the Alcoholism-Drug Dependence Programs of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. I still have a piece of art work that Dave gave me when we met for dinner one evening. I remember Dave well and miss our talks over the years.

He and Ron shared Norwegian stories, and we enjoyed his travel adventures, especially to Norway.
A kind and empathetic man, we were so saddened to learn of his death.
