Dear Weinberg Family,

Your mother Shirlee was my 7th grade teacher at Audubon (1978) and I have never had a teacher make an impact on my life since then. I was so honored that she came to my high school graduation and always encouraged me to do well in life---which I did. I met your father once and he was a very nice man. I am so sorry that you have lost both of your parents. I write this today because it is September 1st and your mom always told us that on the first of every...

Dave Weinberg Decorated B-17 Pilot

To the Weinberg Family
It is with deep sorrow to find that both your parent No long walk this earth. I was a student of your Mother at Audubon School.(1968-1971) She had a vest for life that she instilled in her students.
Her life's lessons I still carry with me today. she holds a special place in my heart today and always.
with deep sorrow, David Burns

Mark - we are saddened at the news of your dad's passing! Our fathers, members of the Great Generation and warriors of WWII shall always be honored as defenders of the American Way. Please accept our sincerest condolences and well wishes for you and the family. Paul Garwood and Gail Rosenfit

A national handball champion, superb golfer and card player beyond compare, few knew he could do complex math in his head, had the vocabulary of a Oxford professor and an engaging way of making his point...

David in air cadet school circa 1943

I will really miss my dad. You may want to know that he died suddenly, in the arms of his dear caretaker, Ken, with no pain. He was active and intact up to the end: he played cards the day before and spoke with me about an hour before it happened, saying what a good night's sleep he had and how much he loved his new apartment.
I'll have breakfast at Omega tomorrow with Ken, my son Isaac and my brother Mark, in his honor and in keeping with our Saturday morning tradition.
