Ellen, I just learned of David's home-going...we are thinking of you and your family, and praying for comfort. How blessed we were to connect with you guys so that he could play in our wedding in Hattiesburg in 1978. I still have the tape, and will always treasure the beautiful music. I only wish we had stayed connected after we moved from Mississippi. We are distant cousins.

Ellen, I am writing this from California, just after reading this announcement. My herring-loving buddy is with his Lord, and I will miss him. I always enjoyed seeing both of you. My heart is with you and the family.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss, and pray for the supernatural peace of God that only comes from the Holy Spirit to surround you and your family.

Ellen, I was so sorry to hear about David. I know you, your children, and the grandchildren will all miss him. Additionally, the world lost a fantastic musical talent. May God hold each of you in the palm of his hand during this difficult time.
