Not sure what to say?

Dave was such an inspiration to so many people, espcially me. He will forever be my favorite Greek professor. My life was touched by him week after week as he faithfully labored to teach me the Greek language. I remember talking with him about his love for the music of Miklos Rosha--the great Jewish Composer. Also, I mustn't forget the story of why David never came to church when it was raining. Poor fellow slipped and fell into the bushes once when it rained. From then on, he vowed to stay...

I think that I can speak for everyone who knew Dave when I say that we all look forward to the day that we get to walk side by side again with him and watch him enjoy his new legs. Until then, thanks for your uplifting smile and, Dave Whisenant, on Magnolia, we will miss you! 2 Tim. 2:15

Today as we glanced across where you normally sat in church, we felt a mixture of sadness and joy...
sadness for the loss of your smile and presence and joy for the crowns you are receiving in heaven. Dave, you will be dearly missed.

Thank you Dave for your life and for your love for the Lord. You were a shining glorious light for Jesus Christ. You reflected His radiance.

What an inspiration Dave was to all who knew him. We never remember seeing him when he wasn't in a great mood. Dave was always ready to answer any Biblical question we might have for him. If he didn't have an immediate answer he would go home and look it up and call us or bring one of his books for us to read with the answer. God graced Dave with the ability to teach and all those whose lives he touched have been Blessed.

What I loved about Dave was he was always joking with me. During football season he would kid me when Alabama and Auburn played each other. I would act like I was going to pull his crutches away from him and he would just belly laugh. Dave also loved sweets and we would make him something special at Easter time and he really appreciated it. I'm really going to miss my friend but I know he will be waiting for me in Heaven.

David was a talker. I could sit and listen to him all day. some days I did and I enjoyed listening to him. He has been a great blessing in my life and you couldn't help but love him.

what an incredible man, no one can deny the impact he had and is still having on every life he touched. i will miss seeing him walk in the front door of the church, smiling and saying hello to everyone. he was always so pleasent to be around, and he made everyone feel warm and loved. see you soon dave!

As one that wants to inpact those around me for Jesus Christ, I saw at Dave's funeral a glimpse of what I pray my life may yeild. I saw geniuine love for this man that enabled so many others to go out into the world for Christ. What an awesome blessing it must be to know that your life contributed to the kingdom ten fold. We should all be so blessed. We love you Dave.
