Burkhart Funeral Home - Crawfordsville Obituary

David Allen Wiley of Darlington passed away Monday at home.  He was 64.

David loved hunting, collecting and fixing old tractors, farming, pretty much anything that would get him outdoors. He loved when his grandkids would come visit him and he would spend as much time with them as he could. In his youth he was active in 4-H, FFA, and band, even getting to travel to Disneyworld with the WeBo band. He enjoyed spending time with his kids on the farm as they grew up, the farm where he and his brother and sister spent so much time growing up. He loved to be around family and he was the best husband, father, brother, son and Grandpa he could be. He was also the best Dad Joke teller, he could always be counted on to make you smile with one of his belly laughs.

Born Aug. 19, 1960 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Wayne Wiley and Barbara Burkhardt Wiley.  He graduated from Western Boone, class of 1979.  He married Trina Griggs on June 30, 1984.  He worked at R.R. Donnelley for 44 years, retiring last year.

Surviving family includes: wife, Trina Wiley; son, Allen Wiley; daughter, Amanda Wiley; two grandchildren, Emrys and Carys; brother, Kenny Wiley; sister, Marilyn Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday, August 8th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 West Wabash Avenue.  A gathering to celebrate the life of David Wiley will be hosted by his family from 1 to3 PM on Saturday, August 9th at the Shannondale Bethel Presbyterian Church in Shannondale, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.

Not sure what to say?

I have known David my whole life. He has always been a good friend and neighbor. We just heard about his passing. We want to express our condolences to the whole family.

Sorry to hear of Davids Passing. He was a great guy to work with and I bought a lot of Horse Hay off of him and his Dad many years ago. RIP David Wiley.

Thank you for the Dad jokes and welcoming this little brown girl into your home. I had the best times in your home, your family was the first family to welcome us Texans and help us become Hoosiers. We were incredibly lucky to know you.
