He was a great man and compassionate to others who were down on their luck. I met Dave back in 1975 or so, while I was working at pleasant View Body shop. Me and Dave hit it off right away. I was a young man just learning Auto repair and he showed me some things that stuck with me till this day that made me a better person. Dave was a great friend of my father. Whenever he needed a umpire for baseball he would call and say Gil I need you to umpire dad was right there. Dave took my father to his first Phillies game.
