Not sure what to say?

Dear Windmiller Family,

I wish I could find the words to express how saddened we are to hear of your loss. I know the pain of losing a sibling at such a young age, and I know that your wonderful memories of David and the support of friends and family will help heal the deep loss you feel. Sending our love and prayers!

For the family and many friends of Dave. Dave and I are brothers-fraternity brothers. I've had the pleasure of knowing Dave for a short time. We became fast friends during my freshman year at William Jewell College. Dave introduced me to the Grateful Dead, for which I'll always be "grateful." My heart is still heavy knowing Dave has passed on. It's been over twenty years since our days at the Lambda Chi Alpha house. Dave-you'll be missed. Thanks for sharing the Dead, being kind and just...

I am so sorry to learn of your crushing loss. I cannot imagine how one can learn to deal with it but I hope the love and support of your fine family and friends will help ease the pain. Lynne Quinn

My deep condolences to Dave's family and friends...Dave was a huge influence on my life in the one year we spent together at William Jewell. Although sadly we lost touch, I would think of him often as he was the guy that got me into the Grateful Dead. His love for the music was infectious and it permeated me and gave me countless friends, memories, and joy in the decades since. Fare thee well, brother...I love you more than words can tell.

Words are inadequate for what I am feeling and wanting to express to you right now, but I do want you to know that I am thinking of all of you (Mr. and Mrs. Windmiller, Jeff, Leigh Anne). David's departure was truly unexpected and I am deeply grieved. Please accept my deepest condolences for your significant loss. I will pay my respects at the services unless you are accepting visitors beforehand.

Ruth Anne and Allan,
