Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to have just found out about David´s passing. He and have been friends and fishing buddies for many years. He was a truly great guy. John Luchene

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved husband & partner Linda & for your father Phillip & Steven. Linda, you & David complemented each other like no other couple I know. May your precious memories bring you comfort. I had so much respect for David and admired the relationship he had with his family. Praying for strength today and peace in all the days ahead. Love, Marilyn Conner James

We will always treasure the times we have spent together with David and Linda. David was a special man and a good friend who loved life, loved his family , and loved the Lord. We know he is in heaven and we will be together again. We pray that you are comforted knowing that, and by the wonderful memories you all share. With love, Hub and Georgia

My deepest sympathy for the Wood family. Sorry for your loss. May you find peace in God during this time of bereavement.

David and I have been friends since the spring of 1974. We started our friendship doing business together but we quickly became closer as we shared many things such as being War Eagle fans and countless fishing trips. True friends are special. David was always there for me and I was there for him for 50 years. As fellow christians I know he is in a special place in heaven and I will fish with him again sometime in the future.

David was a kind and considerate friend. A true `War Eagle´ supporter. My and Connie´s condolences to Linda and Family. May he Rest in Peace

Our thoughts and prayers in this sad time. David and I were in diapers together back in Cullman circa 1943 and have remained in contact all these years. Jim and David enjoyed Auburn and politics chats. David will always be remembered for giving us his "kick six" tickets morning of the game. A true lifelong friend. Linda, also being a Cullman resident, in our growing up years has special place in our memories. Rest in peace our friend and may Linda and family be strong facing the reality of...

Such a special man who was totally devoted to his family and the Auburn Tigers Basketball Program! The Birmingham War Eagle Club was blessed to hear Davids update each Monday at our club luncheon! RIP David!!!!

Watching the sunrise on a lake is one of the greatest ways to witness God´s glory on this earth. I was privileged to share this experience many times with my best friend, David Wood. We shared the love of fishing spanning many decades on lakes from Canada to Costa Rica. The result was always the same, a deep appreciation of the beauty of this world and a knowledge that only a loving God could provide us with this true magnificence. I know David is already scouting Heavenly lakes to secure us...
