I was David Young's student. He introduced me to the Iterative Methods and had a major influence in my interest in numerical analysis. He was a kind and caring man.

In behalf of the Brazilian Association for Computational Methods in Engineering - ABMEC, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the Family. The man may pass, but his work will endure. Thank you very much, Prof. Young! (from the President of ABMEC)

Dr. Young's love of math inspired his students to explore and excel. His sense of humor kept his class exciting and fun. We will all miss the twinkle in his eyes when he completed a problem on the board.

Dr. Young was a great mathematician, and a honorable and wonderful man. He will be sorely missed.

Dr. Young was a remarkable person in so many ways. I had the honor of of reviewing and utilizing his systems at the num-comp center, with Dr.Dueterhoff, And Dr. Kinsey in the '70's. Condolences to the family.
