Dave did my first, and so far only tattoo in 1980.I’ve had many comments on it and always happy to say “ It’s Yerkew!”

PS. My art still looks as amazing as it did in 2001...I get compliments on it all the time still.... the man did great work

Got my favorite tattoo from dave...rip brother

Got my first tattoo as a birthday present from my life partner in 1973. I lived in Central Texas and the only shop I could find was Dave's shop (Yurkew's Tattoos) in Houston, over 200 miles away. Called and made an appointment. By the time we got to Dave's shop we were almost a half hour late and in the middle of a BAD tropical storm. Dave was just about to close when we pulled up to his shop. The shop was flooding and he had a pump running, but he said since we'd come so far he'd stay...

Dave was a good man... And i considered, him a good friend.... Donny.. if you scott. Or dave jr... Wanna get ahold of me. Lance olson.

Many years later and I still think of Dave Yurkew. I have an original small design on my arm that he and I created together in 1982. Due to it being a permanent part of me, he will be also. To those who loved him in life, know that his artwork has touched many of us and continue to give us joy. For me it was so much more as in ways that would take too long to express here, this tattoo helped me through some extremely difficult times. Despite so many people's predictions, I have never, not...

My first tattoo was done by the best. Thanks Dave!!!
