Dawn A. (Cooke) Mawer, age 57, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Reid officiating. Visitation 2 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
Humane Society of Genesee County. Dawn was born in Heidelberg, Germany on May 27, 1955, daughter of William and Janet Cooke and resided in the Flint area all of her life. She graduated from Flint Central in 1973. On July 3, 1992 she married Greg Mawer. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and camping. Mrs. Mawer retired as an
Electrician from AC Spark Plug Division in 1992, after 16 years. She also owned Sunshine Crafters. Surviving are husband, Greg; children, Brandi Huff, Aryn Mawer, Angie and husband Tom Clapp, Jeremy and wife Kristine Mawer and David Mawer; 6 grandchildren; parents, William and Janet Cooke; siblings, Diane and husband David Roach, Brian and wife Tanja Cooke; uncle, Clem Cooke; aunts, Barbara and husband Harry Brosieck and Beverly Waldron. many cousins and friends. Having just seen Dawn on February 25th at the clinic I was shocked and saddened to hear about her passing. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God will be with your family and give you strength as you go through this difficult time.

Dawn and I were electrical apprentices about the same time at AC Spark Plug. Shared a lot of good times back in the day. Sorry for you loss, she passed way too young.
