Tre's Big Game:
It was right before the game, Tre and his teammates prayed;
That God would cover them,
in every game they played.
As Tre knelt down in prayer,
He looked up to the sky;
The time was getting near,
but Tre didn't question why.
Tre felt the presence of his mother,
whom he missed everyday;
He stood tall and strong,
and told the Lord he was on the his way.
Tre's family and friends love him,
but he had to take this ride;
Don't shed any tears...

I live in Saluda, SC. In 1973, our football team went 11-1. The top player on that team was RB Richard "Red" Brooks. On national signing day, he signed to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks under Paul Dietzel. On July 7, one month before camp began, he drowned during an outing at Lake Greenwood. His funeral was held at our stadium and it was packed. Not only by Saluda fans, but players and coaches from other schools as well. That's how respected he was. My condolences to the Turman family.

My son plays for Ponte Vedra and I was so shocked when I heard about De'Antre. I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like an amazing person. It is always our fear with football. I will keep your family in my prayers and also your whole team. God Bless you and comfort you.
