Deacon Royce L. Peacock of 1053 Pineknot Road, Ashburn, Georgia, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Madison Avenue Church of God By Faith in Ashburn, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Royce L. Peacock was born to the late Luther and Essie Peacock on March 4, 1954, in Cordele, Georgia. Royce graduated from Crisp County High School in 1972 and went on to earn an Accounting Degree from Ben Hill Technical College. He used his skills to assist others with their taxes, showcasing his generous nature and commitment to community service.
Known for his warmth and kindness, Royce cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. He had a particular fondness for watching Westerns and took great joy in mentoring his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Royce's professional journey was marked by his long tenure at Ferguson’s Clothing Store, where he became a well-known salesman. His expertise in fashion, particularly his knack for tie-tying, left a lasting impact on many of his customers. Many men learned tie tying technique from him. Royce also worked at Tifton Aluminum until his retirement, demonstrating a strong work ethic throughout his career.
A faithful member of Madison Avenue Church of God By Faith, Royce served diligently on the deacon board and as a Sunday School teacher for many years. His dedication to his faith and community was evident in every aspect of his life.
Royce was a beloved family man, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Dennard; his children, Quinton Ridley and LaTanya Peacock; his grandson, Devon Peacock; a bonus grandson, Troy Williams; and a great-grandson, Ryan Dawson.
Royce L. Peacock transitioned on December 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication. His life touched many, and he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Alberta Peacock; his children: Jacob (Latrice) Peacock, Tiffaney Peacock, Cortney (Fred) Rainey, Contessa Peacock, Latonya (Fred) Peacock-Mency, Maria Smith, and Sherry (Lawrence) Tyson. Through his marriage, he gained five bonus children: Angelia Williams, Monica Williams, Robyn Williams, Maxen (Tamika) Hall, and Willie Hall; his grandchildren: Jalias, Hezekiah, Zoe, Samaria, Kamora, Thai, CJ, Tierney, Jhaden, Jalayia, Jaevon, Tamoiyre, Zion, Kamoiye, Cairo, Camille, Marquavion, Chamiia, Quandarious, Marquise, Keana, and LJ; one great-granddaughter, Malani.; his sisters, Christy (Johnny) Turner, Kathy Barnett, and Iris Jones; his brothers, Ronny (Janice) Peacock, Tony Peacock, and Gary Williams; a host of bonus grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends to include his special friends, George Everett and Elder Ulysses Teague.
